Nature Was My Passion, But Could I Communicate It?

Nature has always and will always be my passion...But since I joined the Green Valley Project I felt like I was able to spread the word to others in a way that I hadn’t before.

Nature has always and will always be my passion, and I felt like it was an amazing opportunity when I saw that the GVP wanted communication interns. I’ve never felt like I could spread the things I thought about the environment, as I haven’t until recently had social media, so I relied on gardening to do what I could to help.

But since I joined the GVP, I felt like I was able to spread the word to others in a way I hadn’t before, and it felt very empowering. My time with the GVP has been very meaningful and given me many experiences; I’ve met passionate people, posted about topics I love, and spent time outdoors in the wilderness.

I couldn’t have enjoyed being in the GVP internship for these 10 weeks more than I did. I’m grateful to have had this experience and I'm eager to recommend others do it, too. In the future, I look forward to more advocacy work, but I’m most excited for the amazing habitats and landscapes I will build with my hands.
